Quote to Ponder ~James Clear

“ When choosing a new habit many people seem to ask themselves, ‘What can I do on my best days?’ The trick is to ask, ‘What can I stick to even on my worst days?’ Start small. Master the art of showing up. Scale up when you have the time, energy, and interest.” ~ James Clear This is so true. When trying to establish a new habit, we are fired up and our enthusiastic-self takes the lead with little regard for reality and the strength of all of our other conflicting habits we’ve already established, intentionally or unintentionally. Those changes we want to make are typically unrealistic and/or so grandiose that we don’t think through how we are going to forge our new wanted habit. As James points out, what is that one thing that we can change or put into place that we can stick with, despite weather or a slow start to the morning, etc?

Andy Timmons Can Make You Cry

Andy Timmons on That Pedal Show As he demonstrates his pedal board, he plays a song that captures his unbelievable tones. Tones that seem only fit for the largest of cathedrals. He literally brings tears to the eyes of both presenters, making one of them walk off screen because he is crying. In short, this song is beautiful.  If the video starts at the beginning of the show, forward up to the 12:30 mark. This was worth the watch/listen. Enjoy. If you want to know more about that song or add it to your playlist,  Here Lies The Heart .

Non-Things

Real Art Matters In A Digital World…. Things vs non-things (digital anything, information)…the tangible vs the intangible in our modern world and why it is important that we still make things that we can hold and touch and experience.  Josh Scott explains the importance of making and buying physical things. Not just because he is a successful guitar pedal maker, but because there is greater satisfaction and experience in the things we can hold. There’s a difference between reading something digital vs holding a book. Looking a photo on Instagram vs hanging a photo on your wall. Listening to a downloaded or streamed song vs holding an album and reading the liner notes while listening to each song with intent.
