A Sad Farewell to Dublin Dr. Pepper The news of the lawsuit hit print back in August, but most of us thought that surely a compromise would be reached. Leave it to over zealous, short-sighted and small-minded attorneys and over a 100 years of Texas history is gone. Seems like a theme lately (thinking of Texas A&M). Dr. Pepper Snapple claims on their press release that, " Our main focus has always been on protecting the strength and integrity of the Dr Pepper trademark... ". This interesting when you consider that Dublin Dr. Pepper hasn't changed the formula in 114 years of making the product. Another interesting quote from their press release is "DPS will now distribute Dr Pepper sweetened with cane sugar throughout Dublin’s former territory, and continue to sell it in other areas of Texas, including Dallas/Fort Worth, Houston and Waco.
