Five Recipes to Elevate Your Grilling | mensjournal.com | Every man hits the same inevitable plateau: You've got burgers and dogs down; you're rock solid searing a rib eye; and you're a backyard Da Vinci with that barbecue brush. But you're over that limited repertoire, and you're just not sure how to elevate your grilling beyond the obvious. Well, consider this: Every great American chef keeps a hot grill raging inside his restaurant kitchen and knows the unique effect direct flame can have on flavor. That's why we asked five of them to share their methods and recipes for cooking elevated versions of grilling favorites, including fish, chicken, pork, vegetables, and fruit.

A Conversation With World Cup Downhill Champion Aaron Gwin | outsideonline.com | Before Southern California downhiller Aaron Gwin won the World Cup Overall last year, no American mountain biker had ever earned that title. Then 23 and racing in only his third season as a pro, Gwin, who grew up on the BMX and moto tracks, was so consistent in his results (including five victories) that he sealed up that title before the season had finished. He's dominated 2012 in the same fashion, winning four of the six events so far this year and clinching the overall before the final race in Hafjell, Norway.

Danish Cycling Union Board Member Tests Positive | outsideonline.com | A member of the Danish Cycling Union's board was dismissed from his post following news that he tested positive for three banned substances at a veterans' race in June. Soren Svenningsen showed traces of testosterone and two kinds of glucocorticoids and will be forced to quit the DCU board and his position as president of the Holte Cycling Club. He claims the positives are linked to injections he took for a back injury.

The 20 best CDs of 2011 , by Brian Q. Newcomb It's that time of year when lists by the dozens start making their way into magazines, blogs, tweets and over the airwaves.  I'm adding to all of that by forwarding this one along.  In fact, I may even add to those before the years is up.  Actually, I probably won't add until the year has past by a few days. The list below is by Brian Q. Newcomb, one of my favorite music critics. I'm not a fan of everyone on his list, but respect his musical tastes enough to give them a spin (Thank you Spotify).  Some I have been a fan of for years and other will be a discovery.  I'm looking forward to what I will hear.
